August Kung Fu Grading 2022

August Kung Fu Grading 2022

August Kung Fu grading exams 2022

It’s nearly that time again! The August Kung Fu grading examinations are upon us. This year has been fraught with challenges. We are as always, impressed with the resilience of our Kung Fu students and their dedication to achieving excellence through the world of martial arts.

Our focus now turns to our GOALS (the pursuit of excellence = black belt). We should have learned the majority of our curriculum material by now, so our focus should now be turning to refining our teachings, so you are at your best come grading time. Your grading examinations are the culmination of months of hard work by YOU, the students. They are designed to test your physical abilities, aptitude, memory and understanding. They are a chance for you to showcase your growth in the pursuit of excellence. Every grading examination should be one of those milestone goals you check off in your pursuit of excellence.

Information for New Students

Some of the requirements to be eligible for grading is that students must be registered and have a full Gi before participating. After learning their curriculum material, students will participate in mock examinations. If students pass the mock exams, their Instructor will issue them with a grading form.

The grading examinations include striking techniques (Da 打), paired sequences (Chángguī 常规), board breaking techniques (Dapo 打破), combat sparring (Sanshou 散手), and the traditional routines known as Taolu (套路). Students are assessed in each category as part of their grading criteria. Our robust curriculum sets the requirements, standards and expectations for the grading examinations.
